"You have the capacity to not only love, but to love deeply and with your entire being. It's that love that makes you feel weak, but it is exactly that love that makes you powerful."

Squeeeeel. The second book is here! This book chronicles the rise of the Grand Duchess Catherine of Russia from a puppet of the Empress, to a force to be reckoned with. Fans of Historical Fiction, the happenings of court, and romance will love this book. I must admit, that other books in these genres have, what i call, "gag worthy romance", but this does not. The romance is sweet and adorable and contrasts the wicked happenings at court. From devilish plots and diabolical murders to the sweet kindness of the human soul, this book has it all. It explains the events and reasons for the steel determination that Catherine has. However, the book does not stick close to the events that actually transpired in History and so this book may not please History buffs. The books ends with a cliffhanger and that KILLS me. I have a love hate relationship with cliffhangers you see, and his book was no exception. I am going to be thinking about this book a lot until the next book comes out.

Final verdict: I think this book should be on everyone's reading lists.

Will i read the rest of the series: Yes

Rating: 4.5/5
