Book Review - The Magician's Guild

Publisher's summary: "We should expect this young woman to be more powerful than our average novice, possibly even more powerful than the average magician."

This year, like every other, the magicians of Imardin gather to purge the city of undesirables. Cloaked in the protection of their sorcery, they move with no fear of the vagrants and miscreants who despise them and their work-—until one enraged girl, barely more than a child, hurls a stone at the hated invaders...and effortlessly penetrates their magical shield.

What the Magicians' Guild has long dreaded has finally come to pass. There is someone outside their ranks who possesses a raw power beyond imagining, an untrained mage who must be found and schooled before she destroys herself and her city with a force she cannot yet control.

This book is full of magic and action with just the right amount of romance. Personally I do not like sappy books that concentrate mostly on a love relationship and forsakes the other characters and plot of the story. The main lead of this book is a courageous girl yet at the same time the writer made sure to show us that she also has vulnerabilities which made it easier to resonate with her. The concept of how magic works in this book has a fresh twist and the characters are all very lovable, it is the right blend of action and fantasy you would feel like reading at a time where you just need to lose yourself into a book. Honestly I read this book three times and I plan to buy the rest of the series the first chance I get.

Final verdict: Awesomeness in a book.

Will I read the rest of the series: YES
